Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, applicable charges, and your responsibilities for the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements for Vehicle Rental
- To hire a vehicle in Walsall, you must be at least 21 years old, although different age restrictions may apply based on the vehicle type, with extra fees for drivers under 25. A valid driving licence suitable for the vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of your current address. Valid payment details and a security deposit are also needed, along with any other requirements listed in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be made via our website, by phone, or directly at our Walsall office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment, along with a security deposit, is usually required at the time of vehicle collection. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept all major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- Upon collecting your vehicle, it is essential to conduct a comprehensive inspection and promptly report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and signed to document the state of the car. Please return the vehicle in the same condition as when it was collected, accounting for ordinary wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged as necessary. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level; refueling fees will apply for any discrepancies. Late returns may attract additional charges, so please notify us as soon as possible if you anticipate delays. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental period, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Details
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. Full coverage specifics and excess amounts can be found in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to lower your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess amount, unless additional insurance is purchased. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Keep in mind that late cancellations or no-shows could incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- Use of the vehicle for any unlawful activities is prohibited. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or other risky maneuvers is not allowed. Transporting hazardous materials or substances is forbidden. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is prohibited. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly against policy. The vehicle must be used for its intended purpose only, and adherence to passenger and weight limits is required. Driving outside designated geographical areas without prior approval is not permitted.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Walsall will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business that may arise from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the rental amount you paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
9. Local Legal Framework
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
